was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1961. After winning a government scholarship, he studied painting in the renowned Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. He leads an Art School and curates the Studio Gallery in Nicosia, is in the board of directors of the Chamber of Fine Arts in Cyprus and an art project initiator and manager.
His work, even though undergoing continuous transformation through experimentation in different media, retains a rich emotionalism expressed though vivid contrasts of line, surface and texture. Mainly figurative, the work tends to express the internal struggle of humans as a refining process towards spiritual liberation which is usually symbolised by light. The internal borders of divided counties and communities like his own country Cyprus and the emotional turmoil of these communities as well as their desire to communicate and reunite evoke sparks of creativity in the artist.
