She was born in Hameenlinna, Finland in 1959, and now lives
and works in Helsinki. She studied film in Los Angeles and
London. Her multi-screen installations explore experimental
narratives about the unsettling human drama at the centre of
personal relationships. Her work was exhibited at Documenta
II, Kassel (2002), Tate Modern, London (2002), the San
Francisco Museum of Modern Art (2003), the Busan Biennale,
South Korea (2004), the Mori Art Museum, tokyo (2005), the
51st Venice Biennale (2005) and Marian Goodman Gallery,
New York (2006), Billboard Vision Project, Tokyo (2006),
MoM, New York (2006), Two Rooms, Auckland, New Zealnad
(2006), museum of Contemporary Art San Diego 92007),
National Gallery of Canada (2007), Jeu de Paume, Paris
(2008), K21 Kunstsammlung (2008) as well as at many other
venues across the world.
